The Electric Alley - Momart Theatre, Cadiz 02/01/2021

The year 2021 opened with an explosive start as Cadiz rockers, The Electric Alley took to the stage in their home town on Saturday 2nd January at the Momart Theatre, Cadiz. After a difficult year, the band were prepared to play the songs they weren't able to in 2020 and they made sure that they came back wielding a stronger force than ever before, while still ensuring that the concert was in a safe environment, which also followed safety measures at all times.
They displayed that a rock n roll concert can be enjoyed responsibly, and it is a perfect example why live music can, and should start again under the safety restrictions along with a limited capacity in all venues. I am a strong believer that we can still attend, and enjoy gigs amidst this pandemic as long as we are all on same page, and it is organised in the correct manner.

Anyway enough of that, lets get back to the show……
The excitement and anticipation was building, you could feel it from deep inside your core, while it was running through your veins to your fingertips. The electricity was very much alive and sparks were flying throughout the whole theatre. The band kick started with fan favourites “Up In Flames,” the crowd went wild and the room was buzzing at full voltage as “No Control” came powering in, followed by “Standing” and by this point there was no looking back as they steered the crowd into pure euphoria.
The group then delighted the audience with new tracks “Fireworks” & “Run” off their forthcoming record, which went very well as cheers and applause erupted throughout the room. The songs are infectious, pure rock n roll to the bone, and make the heart happy. On a side note, I have been lucky enough to have heard these incredible tracks before this magical night, and they are already firm favourites of mine, as they show off that “The Electric Alley” essence.

“Last Letter” & “Rusty” followed before soaring guitars hit you hard in the form of “I’ve Been Taught” & “Can We Have Some Love Between Us”. They kept the pace throughout as they knocked out track after track, without hesitation. The now newly 5 piece formation stick together like glue, and complement each other’s playing style effortlessly, like it was always meant to be. The force is definitely strong with them.
New song “Hurricane” was next, followed by “You Give Me Something” which bought the show to its end, but not before an immense encore of new track “One Lasting Light”, “Eagles Fly Solo” & “Get Electrified”. And lets just say, the crowd were well and truly electrified by the end of this intense and unforgettable show. I, personally was overwhelmed in a glass case of emotion. My heart was happy, and I was extremely happy to see them in their element, being able to do what they do best, and to see their pure happiness shine bright whilst they were on stage.

El año 2021 abrió con un arranque explosivo como rockeros gaditanos, The Electric Alley subió al escenario de su ciudad el sábado 2 de enero en el Teatro Momart de Cádiz. Después de un año difícil, la banda se preparó para tocar las canciones que no pudieron en 2020 y se aseguraron de que regresaran con una fuerza más fuerte que nunca, mientras se aseguraban de que es un concierto seguro, lo que también siguió las medidas de seguridad en todo momento.
Demostraron que un concierto de rock n roll se puede disfrutar de manera responsable, y es un ejemplo perfecto de por qué la música en directo puede y debe comenzar de nuevo bajo las restricciones de seguridad junto con una capacidad limitada en todos los salas. Creo firmemente que aún podemos asistir y disfrutar de los conciertos en medio de esta pandemia siempre que estemos todos en la misma página y esté organizado de la manera correcta.
De todos modos, basta de eso, volvamos al espectáculo ...
La emoción y la anticipación aumentaban, podías sentirlo desde lo más profundo de tu núcleo, mientras corría por tus venas hasta la punta de tus dedos. La electricidad estaba muy viva y las chispas volaban por todo el teatro. La patada de la banda comenzó con los favoritos de los fans "Up In Flames", la audiencia se volvió loca y la sala zumbaba a pleno voltaje cuando "No Control" entró en funcionamiento, seguido de "Standing" y en este punto ya no había vuelta atrás mientras ellos llevaban a la audiencia a la euforia pura.
Luego, el grupo deleitó a la audiencia con las nuevas canciones “Fireworks” y “Run” de su próximo disco, que fue muy bien y los vítores y aplausos estallaron en toda la sala. Las canciones son contagiosas, puro rock n roll hasta los huesos, y hacen feliz al corazón. he tenido la suerte de haber escuchado estos increíbles temas antes de esta noche tan mágica, y ya son firmes favoritas mías, ya que muestran esa esencia de “The Electric Alley”.
"Last Letter" y "Rusty" siguio antes de que las guitarras en alza te golpeen con fuerza en forma de "I've Been Taught" y "Can We Have Some Love Between Us". Mantuvieron el ritmo durante todo, canción tras canción, sin dudarlo. La nueva formacion de 5 miembros se adhiere como pegamento y complementan el estilo de tocar de cada uno sin esfuerzo, como siempre se suponía que debía ser. La fuerza es definitivamente fuerte con ellos.
La nueva canción “Hurricane” fue la siguiente, seguida de “You Give Me Something” que llevó el espectáculo a su fin, no antes de un inmenso encore del nuevo cancion “One Lasting Light”, “Eagles Fly Solo” y “Get Electrified”. Y digamos que la audiencia estaba realmente electrificada al final de este espectáculo intenso e inolvidable. Yo, personalmente, me sentí abrumada en una vitrina de emoción. Mi corazón estaba feliz, y estaba extremadamente feliz de verlos en su elemento, poder hacer lo que mejor hacen y ver su pura felicidad brillar mientras estaban en el escenario.
